Research & Development
Through a commitment to innovative research and development, EA continues to set industry standards and benchmarks for performance and sustainability. We have been responsible for a number of global breakthroughs, having set fifteen world records for silicon cell efficiency and solar module power output since 2015.
In fact, many of our production lines feature innovations developed by our own dedicated technologists, scientists and engineers, working hand-in-hand with equipment manufacturers. At our four state-of-the-art R&D centres — located in USA, Korea, Cambo and Vietnam — we continue to set the standard in technology, economies of scale and quality control.

MR. Jack Stone
President & CEO, Energy America
Jack leads Energy America, which has the broadest renewable energy portfolio in the industry, includes solar, on-shore wind, off-shore wind, hydro, and energy storage.
Jack Stone was appointed President of Hybrid power and Executive Vice-President of hybrid power, in June 2011. He oversees global renewable energy development including large-scale power plant projects.
MR. MATHEW PETERS
Senior Vice President-Solar
Mathew peters is an EA Company Officer and the VP of the solar division. With more than 10GW solar modules installed globally, EA is one of the world’s leading module suppliers. EA’s portfolio of module feature rated capacities from 160W to 345W, and are suited to meet the needs of a broad range of solar regimes. Mathew is based in San Francisco, CA, and manages over 1,000 employees worldwide.
MR. DARREL SMITH
Vice President-Solar Products
Darrel Smith is VP of product development and is based in San Francisco, California. Darrel is also an EA Company Officer.
Darrel began working at Tahira Corporation in 2003, and throughout his career, has held a series of positions that have progressively strengthened his product development expertise.
He has served as Quality Director, Deputy General Director of solar product development, Head of project execution, Project Director for global power plant projects, and Managing Director for the Middle East, all for Tahira Corp’s renewable business.
MR. DAVID HUA
Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development
David Hua serves as Energy America’s vice president of corporate strategy and business development, responsible for driving the company’s strategy, mergers and acquisition, and business activities.
Previously, he was the company’s vice president of engineering, where he established the EA brand and oversaw development of the industry’s first dealer network program. Prior to joining EA, David served as project manager at Aecom, He has more than 10 years of industry experience, including management positions at Kramer.
MR. JEFFREY LEUNG
Jeffrey Leung joined Energy America in 2016. He was appointed to the Executive Committee in charge of R&D end of 2017, became COO late in 2018, in 2020, and has finally been named VP-Product Development. His career at Energy America has developed largely in USA, operational functions in Italy, China, South Africa, and Latin America, and he leads North American business as VP of Energy America.
