Energy America enters Kenya-20MW solar farm development

Energy America completed the construction of a PV plant in Kenya, a 20 MW power plant located in Kenya. The subsequent operation and maintenance (O&M) services will be managed by EA as well.

The project is a result of a strategic agreement between EA and local power authority. The plant was built using EA-440 SERIES, 144 cell mono technology to allow for greater efficiency at high temperatures and during hours of low sun exposure.

Energy America plans to develop several projects ranging from 20-200MW in African Market.

The expected electricity generated at full capacity is enough to meet the consumption of more than 50,000 average Kenyan homes. This is equivalent to avoiding over 250,000 metric tons of carbon (CO₂) emissions annually which represents the greenhouse gas emissions from more than 60,000 passenger vehicles driven over the course of one year2.

Energy America LLC, one of the largest renewable energy developers in North America, is committing to providing solutions to meet Africa’s carbon-reduction goals. With 30 years of technical experience and 10 gigawatts of wind, solar, and storage projects developed, Energy America LLC provides integrated energy solutions from grid-scale power to electric vehicle charging.
